How does it work

Salon Iris can e-mail and text your clients their appointment reminders 24, 48 or 72 hours in advance, all you need is a valid e-mail account with an internet service provider. In addition to this service it is possible to configure Salon Iris to text their upcoming appointment directly to your client’s mobile phone through E-mail to Text messaging. All you need do is to purchase your texts from a reputable text service provider, we recommend purchasing these text message bundles from Text Magic.

How Much does it cost

Salon Iris ltd do not charge for this extra service, however, you will need to purchase texts from a service provider, these costs will of course vary depending on your business type, location & actual client daily turnover. As an example, a salon with 40 clients a day will need to purchase approximately 800 texts per month, the average cost per text being approximately 10p. Basic E-mail configuration without text messaging.

From the TOOLS Menu, select “E-mail Reminder Configuration”

From this screen select E-mail set up (lower left of window)

Here is a sample text / e-mail message

Configure your e-mail settings. Your internet service provider should be able to supply this to you.

To add text messaging

Open an account with Text Magic or preferred provider & purchase your message bundle.

To integrate text messaging with Salon Iris ensure that you have recorded your clients mobile number under the ‘Phone’ section within the Client Information screen, then simply click into the ‘SMS Text Number’ box. This will the copy the number into this box along with the @ symbol. If your using text magic as your service provider (recommended) enter their details as shown below or enter your preferred service provider.

Ensure that the client has given their permission to receive text reminders from your business, so as to comply with current data protection legislation, if the client is happy to receive text reminders UN-check the “Do not mail” box as shown above.

By populating both the ‘E-mail’ and ‘SMS Text Number’ fields on the Client Information screen your client will receive an e-mail & text reminder for their upcoming appointment.

You can automatically send Text or E-mail reminders when Salon Iris starts, exits or at various times throughout the day, furthermore you can configure Salon Iris to manual send only. As always with Salon Iris you remain in full control.
